Career History/

2008-09
• BTCC with Vauxhall. 5th overall in '08 and 4th overall in '09 with 1 race win in each season. Led opening four rounds of '09 before some appalling luck. Also contested in '08 Aussie V8 races Philip Island 500km, finishing 15th, and world-famous Bathurst 1000km, which ended in retirement.
2004-07
• BTCC with Dynamics family team, rebranded as Team Halfords. 5th overall in ’04 with 3 race wins in Honda Civic Type R. CHAMPION in ’05 and ’06 with team’s new Honda Integra. 6 race wins in ’05, 8 wins in ’06. Titles brought 5th and 6th Independent Drivers’ crowns. ’05 triumph made him first privateer driver to win outright title since 1991. Finished 4th in ’07 as team switched to newer S2000-spec Honda Civic – with little development, gave car a shock first win in Brands Hatch’s opening round.
2002-03
• BTCC with factory Vauxhall Honda outfits. 3rd overall both seasons, in ’02 with 3 race wins in Vauxhall’s Egg:sport-liveried Astra Coupe, then in ’03 with 5 race wins in Honda’s Civic Type R.
2001
• Opening 2 BTCC races only in factory Peugeot 406 Coupe. Then contested whole FIA European Touring Car series in Dynamics-run Nissan Primera, achieving 1 win in final race for Super Touring category. Limited outings in Aussie V8 Supercars with ‘Big Kev’ Holden team.
1995-2000
• BTCC with Dynamics. Earned the tag ‘People’s Champion’ with numerous giant-killing acts. Took 2nd, 3rd and 4th privateer titles in ’95 (Ford Mondeo), ’99 and 2000 (both Nissan Primera). Famously scooped £250,000 at Donington Park in ’99 for becoming first independent in Super Touring era (’95 onwards) to win a race outright against manufacturer teams. Notably in ’95 also finished 12th out of 55 starters and as top privateer in Dynamics Mondeo in Touring Car World Cup at Paul Ricard, France.
1997-99
• Also contested three Bathurst 1000kms. In ’98, finished a dramatic 2nd in Dynamics Nissan (sharing with Steven Richards) – missing victory by 1.7s after 7 hours, the closest finish in the race’s history.
1991-1994
• BTCC. Debuted in Pyramid team BMW M3 at British F1 Grand Prix. Drove for privately-entered family-run Team Dynamics in M3 in ’92 (Will Hoy’s ’91 title-winner) before crashing heavily and replacing it with newer 318 model. Stuck with car for ’93, winning first Independents’ title. Joined factory Mazda squad for ’94, but injuries in a huge crash at Silverstone ended season early. Recovered in time to contest end-of-season Touring Car World Cup in Mazda 323 at Donington.
1990-91
• British Group N. CHAMPION both seasons: in ‘90 in a class B BMW M3 (Goodliff Racing); in ’91 in a class A Nissan Skyline (Dynamics).
1988-89
• Ford Fiesta XR2i category (Goodliff Racing). 2nd in ’88 winter series; 3rd in full ’89 campaign.
1984-87
• Motocross. Got to AMCA Expert level but “Father guided me into cars after numerous accidents and broken bones on bikes”!

• BTCC with three different teams! Remained in Dynamics Honda Civic for opening round but then missed next four events. Re-appeared in SEAT Leon for Cartridge World then Club SEAT teams. Regular front-runner but highlights were qualifying and finishing second in home round at Knockhill. Finished 14th overall.
2006-08
• BTCC with Team Dynamics/Halfords. 4th in ’06 with 4 race wins in Honda Integra. 3rd in ’07 with 4 race wins in Honda Civic. 7th in ’08 with 2 race wins. Also, contested Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours round of FIA GT Championship in ’08 with CR Scuderia Ferrari 430, finishing 4th in GT2 class. Contested Formula Ford’s end-of-season Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone in ‘07, reaching the final on his debut appearance in the category. 2003
• BTCC-supporting Porsche Carrera Cup round at Knockhill. Took 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
2003
• SEAT Cupra Championship. 2nd overall with 1 race win (“They wouldn’t let me race my lucky no.52”)!
2001
• Home Knockhill round of BTCC Production Class in a GR Motorsport Ford Focus (no.52). Won one of the races.
1999-2000
• Ford Fiesta Championship. CHAMPION in 2000 with 9 race wins with Tim Norton Racing Services team in car no.52!
1998
• Scottish Ford XR2i series with funding from National Lottery’s ‘talented athletes’ scheme.

Veľmi to nesledujem, ale toho roku už vo WTCC nejazdí žiadny Accord.

A v BTCC je tých Hondičiek viac.
Sú tam tí dvaja Hondou podporovaní- Honda Racing Team, ale v tejto sezóne sú už bieli nie čierni. Majú nejaký hybrid CTR FN2 s 5D karosériou a motorom od Mugenu.



A potom sa tam preháňajú ďalšie 3 nezávislácke tímy na troch Intergrách a jednom CTR 7G. Len škoda, že to nemám kde sledovať v TV.

Hej,hej,tie fotky co som dal boli este zo sezony 2008,ak by si mal nejake info o parametroch aut bolo by fajn a aj viac fotiek.
A tusim je tam aj nejaka integra.

• First full season back in BTCC since being diagnosed with diabetes in ’03 Stunned in Tech-Speed run sunshine.co.uk Honda Integra. 12th overall with 20 top ten points finishes – highlight was emotional 2nd outright at Snetterton. Also test driver role for Motorsport News magazine with races in all manner of cars from Caterhams to Toyota MR2s while working as an ambassador for Diabetes UK Society as well.

• Contested final BTCC round at Thruxton in Motorbase SEAT Toledo.
2006
• Limited BTCC programme in Thurlby Motors/Tech-Speed Vauxhall Astra Coupe. Made history by becoming first driver to start a BTCC race (final round at Silverstone) from pole position in a bio-ethanol-fuelled car thanks to being drawn first on race 3's reverse grid!

• Class victory in Britcar 24-Hours race at Silverstone in MG ZR.
2002-03

2005-06
• Britcar, achieving wins in Production S1 class with Honda Civic Type R. Highlight was class victory in 2005’s Silverstone 24 Hours.
2004
• BTCC in series’ first-ever LPG-powered cars, a Honda Civic Type R and then Peugeot 406 both run by Mardi Gras Motorsport.
2003
• Britcar. 4 class wins in Honda Civic Type R. Also contested BTCC-supporting Renault Clio Cup with Mardi Gras team.
2001-02
• BTCC-supporting Renault Clio Cup as well as category’s winter series with Mardi Gras team. Made page 3 headlines in The Sun newspaper on Clio Cup debut at Brands Hatch in 2001: ‘Racing Chump!’ The paper picked up on the fact he’d made a round trip of 1000 miles to home and back to pick up the family only to crash out just 300 yards into his first car race proper. In 2002, John caused more headlines, wrecking the sump of his Clio and depositing its oil all over the Thruxton chicane… leading to a multiple pile-up when the race leaders, the next group through, tried rounding the corner.
2000
• BRDC’s ‘school’ Formula Ford 1600 series. 7th overall.

Cez víkend (5.-6. júna 2010) sa išli na okruhu Oulton Park 4. preteky Dunlop - MSA British Touring Car Championship, konkrétne 10., 11. & 12. kolo.

Team Dynamics Honda Racing už pripravuje auto na dalsiu sezonu BTCC, pojde totiž už s 9, nepredstavenou generaciou civicu Wink .
